A young man who suffered a horrific broken ankle has shocked fellow festival-goers after he simply stood up and limped away.
Mobile phone footage shows the man sitting in the car park at Byron Bay’s Splendour in the Grass festival over the weekend with his entire right foot twisted 180 degrees.
Although his friends insist he ‘cannot walk on that,’ the man ignores the advice, stands up and delicately shuffles down the path as bystanders laugh and cheer.

Footage of the bizarre moment was captured on a mobile phone belonging to the man’s friend and uploaded to Facebook on Wednesday.
The video received 11,000 likes and 3,000 shares in just five hours.
Some believed the young man was in severe shock after suffering the break, meaning he was able to walk on the injured foot.
